one of the biggest ministry finds of the year
What could possibly be one of my biggest finds of the year? Well, let me share with you. That find is Hoopla Digital. So now that I’ve told you what it is, you may be wondering what is Hoopla? Hoopla is a digital media service that is offered free of charge by your local public library that allows you to borrow movies, music, audiobooks, and ebooks. Now what makes Hoopla so great is that it allows you to browse and instantly download books from a vast array of Christian authors and publishers. What got me so excited about this service is just the vast amount of Christian books that are available to download.
I literally found every book that was on my wish list to buy. What it does for you as a leader, is to give you the opportunity to browse and borrow books that you might have been interested in but might not have had the budget to purchase. I cannot tell you the number of times that I wanted to read a section of a book for an upcoming sermon or message, but didn’t want to spend the money. This service cuts out any guessing if a book is worth your hard earned money by allowing you to download any book you’re interested in reading. You can borrow and return whatever resource you are in need of.
...It is a tool that will literally save you and your church potentially thousands of dollars in books and resources.
One of my favorite discoveries while researching Hoopla was the sheer number of Christian Audiobook titles that are available. Now another reason this should get you excited as a leader is because their app is so easy to use. This can literally increase the training that is available to your leaders by encouraging them to use this free service. You could literally have your church go through a whole book study together and what could have cost your church thousands of dollars will be absolutely free. Think of the ability for not just yourself but every leader to be able to preview books and recommend books to members who are a part of different ministries.
Another great find was that on top of the hundreds of books they offer they also carry tons of commentaries and studies. It is a tool that will literally save you and your church potentially thousands of dollars in books and resources.”
Now if there is any drawback to this service, it’s that you’re limited to a certain number of books you can borrow each month. For my Library we are allowed to borrow 12 items a month, so unless you’re a very avid reader you will most likely never use up your allowance of borrowed books. So there you have it. Download the app or open it in your browser and enjoy this vast library of books.
